The Beginning of My Teaching Adventures!

Along with my first teaching position comes my first blog! I've had several friends and family members ask if I was going to blog.  I really didn't have anything to blog about since I didn't have a job.  I had a few fun and creative things to share while I was student teaching, but nothing really worth blogging about.  I graduated from Appalachian State University in May of this year with a degree in elementary education.  I spent all summer job searching to no avail.  I was really disappointed that I wasn't able to have a classroom of my own, but I knew that God had a plan for me.

On November 30th, I received a call from the principal at Francisco Elementary School who wanted to offer me a teacher's assistant position for a first and second grade combination class.  I was hesitant about accepting the position because I really wanted my own classroom.  The more I prayed about it, the more I felt like this was where God wanted me to be.

I started the job on December 3rd and I couldn't be happier.  This is exactly where I need to be.  The teacher I work with is amazing, the students are wonderful and the administration is great! This tiny little school is the perfect place to begin my career.  I will share some of the things I've already been able to do in the classroom later on! It's been such a fun adventure so far!
